The ShotDeck 2024 Recreations Contest is now live with $75,000 up for grabs in filmmaking gear! We’re excited to partner with ShotDeck this year to bring you the HOLLYWOOD BLACK CHALLENGE.
We want to celebrate the history of Black cinema! To mark the release of Hollywood Black, our four-part docuseries chronicling the history of cinema from a radically Black perspective, we’ve curated a playlist of films (available on the official ShotDeck Recreations Landing Page) that are either featured in or have inspired the series, which debuts on MGM+ on August 11.
Recreate a still from one of these influential films for a chance to win a one-on-one session with filmmaker Justin Simien, along with $2K and a one-year subscription to MGM+. The first runner-up will be awarded $1K and a free year of MGM+. The second runner-up will win $500 and a year-long subscription to MGM+.
