The film and TV industry is totally fine, everyone knows that, but as a DEI filmmaker, I too have to start a newsletter now. To be fair it’s the kind of thing I’d do anyway. I once used social media to get my first film Dear White People made and most recently to keep my production company Culture Machine afloat during the strikes. This is like that, but ahead of time.
This Just In will be a deep dive into whatever is inspiring my work or enraging me or capturing my curiosity while I find time to do my work so that I can continue to work! We are staying hopeful that the already precarious social infrastructure for Black Queer artists won’t continue its collapse under the weight of authoritarianism, but just in case, subscribe now!
